Soundtrack
The soundtrack I decided to use to accompany the opening is a song by Liam Bailey.

The lyrics, I thought, worked particularly well with the theme of the film and the tone of the song works well. I was advised by my teacher to not let it dominate the film, so I decided to have it starting off slightly quieter with a muffled filter on it which I turned up. She then goes to open the drawer, which I used as a transition to allow the music to stop. Once she has inserted the DVD the music begins once again but louder and without the muffled filter when she closes the drawer.

Sound and Colour
After finishing the first rough cut I decided to colour grade and add sound effects to give the opening more depth. I used the sound of magazine pages flipping as a sound bridge to the beginning whilst a soundtrack of Liam Baileys 'When will they learn' crescendoing in the background.
To the Transgender news report at the beginning I added a television sound effect and adjusted the levels.
When it came to colour grade I decided to increase the contrast and play around with the blues and pinks, to reference the fact of gender association with colour that is so relevant in our society. Although the changes are subtle I think they give the film a more cinematic look.

Extras
As in the first opening, I decided to add some context in the form of audio clips etc. I used an American transgender news report as a sounds bridge for the beginning. I then used a quote, by George Orwell, to suggest to the audience our view on the controversial matter, and to stress the importance of acceptance to anyone who watched our work.
Title Sequence
For the title sequence I chose to use the font : gear proportion regular.
I liked it because it was simple and bold, I created a preset so that it appeared in a random order.. a technique I have seen used in many openings.
I also used this font for the title.

Final product : Idents
Idents
I was also criticised by my teacher for the pre-made idents I used in the opening. While I chose them to give the film a more authentic feel I chose to make my own this time round, and play with some of the visual effects I enjoy doing in my other projects.
I wanted to use some original footage I have taken from my projects and travels and incorporate these into the idents to make it more personal.
Here are some home videos and little animations that I am thinking about using for my idents.

Re-Editing the film
After a lot of audience feedback and feedback from our teacher we came to the conclusion that it could've been done better. A few notes I picked up from the feedback were the appearance of the film as a whole and how it resembled more of a music video than an opening and how the stock footage used was not appropriate due to copyright issues. While I believe the final product had a lot of energy I understand how, for the specification, it was not quite right.
Whilst reshooting is also an option I decided to give the edit a completely new look and see how it works out.
